Just Think

Just think,
there is no sunny day, no starry night,
nor light ,water, wine, fruit,
just you and me

Just think,
of our
impassioned existence
now in spirit and feeling

Just think
our lives will be mere memories
of days past,
of the fountain of youth

Just think,
love of mine, you and I will be
like an afternoon breeze
caressing the lilies

Just think,
that hand in hand, you and I
will make metaphors
and throw them to the wind

Just think
we have walked
over the loose pages of the calendar
and left books as our heritage

Just think
time’s exhaustion
will feed on us
as night does from day

Just think,
my sweetheart, that on Earth
only our yellow ashes remain,
separated from the soul,
now just you and me
