What to submit
This is an open contest for poetry of any style or theme. Your entry should be your own original work. You may submit the same poem(s) simultaneously to this contest and others and you may submit poems that have been published elsewhere, as long as you own the online publication rights. Poems that have won cash prizes in other contests are excluded.
Length
Poems not to exceed 30 lines length (excluding title and spaces between stanzas).
Judges
The Judges this year are Ricky Rapoport Friesem, Helen Bar-Lev and Johnmichael Simon.
About this year's Guest Judge - Ricky Rapoport Friesem
Ricky Rapoport Friesem is a poet, writer and documentary filmmaker. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, among them Moment, The Jewish Daily Forward, Lucidity, Poetica Magazine, Voices Anthology.
Her prizes and honorable mentions include Lilith Magazine’s 2007 Charlotte Newberger Poetry Competition, the 2007 Reuben Rose Memorial Poetry Competition, the Miriam Felicia Lindberg Peace Poetry Contest. Her essay, House of David, won first prize in the 2010 Women in Judaism Journal's Annual Competition. Her poetry collection, Parentheses was awarded first Prize in Writer's Digest 2007 International Self-Published Book Awards. She was named International Senior Poet Laureate by the Amy Kitchener Foundation in 2010.
Publication
The top ten poems will be published on the Cyclamens and Swords website. A chapbook containing the winning poems and the honorable mentions will be sent to the winners in addition to their cash prize.
Entry Fee
$5 (NIS20) for a submission of one poem, $10 (NIS40) for a submission of three poems, $15 (NIS60) for a submission of six poems.
How to submit

Poems should be in one single Word or .rtf attachment. Each poem should be on a separate page. Include your contact details: name, address, email address, telephone numbers only once in the document.
Entries may also be mailed to: Cyclamens and Swords Publishing, P.O. Box 21, Metulla10292, ISRAEL (postmarked no later than 30th November 2010).

Send your payment together with your snail mailed submission. Checks in Israeli Shekels only, made out to J. Simon are accepted. Other currencies - cash only. No money orders. For payments in Euros or Pounds Sterling, please convert at rate applicable on day of sending.
