Raphael Wettenstein

Raphael Wettenstein is a graduate of the Israeli Academy of Arts. In 1965 he came to the US to widen his artistic horizons. During the next 30 years he expressed his creative talents as an illustrator, art director, film producer, and an audio-visual educator/producer. Recently, Raphael retired and moved from New York City to Livingston Manor with his life partner Eva. Inspired by the surrounding beauty of the Catskill Mountains he has returned to his love of painting. Additional inspiration was provided by the 40th anniversary of the Woodstock event which took place nearby in Bethel Woods. The results are a series of pastel paintings in which the peace symbol is integrated in the scenery and life style of the Catskill Mountains.
