Shirley Kanyon lives and works in the upper Galilee, Israel. She received a B.F.A. degree from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Architecture.
Shirley works mainly with tempera, ink, gouache and aquarelle on paper, cardboard and wood. She paints from observation, her paintings begin and end outdoors. Each painting serves as witness and document to a particular moment in time. The art via perception in space and through pictorial language becomes a permanent record of a living space framed in the limits of time and conditions.
